Terms of use

These terms govern the use of the Mboa Trajet apps (rider and driver) and of this website. By creating an account, you accept them.

The service

Mboa Trajet is a platform that connects riders with drivers who are independent or employed by fleet owners, for motorbike and car trips, shared rides and city-to-city carpools.

Mboa Trajet’s exact legal status (intermediary or carrier) and the obligations that follow are to be specified: [to be completed after legal advice].

Your account

  • Your account is personal and created with a phone number verified by SMS.
  • You are responsible for keeping your details accurate.
  • You can request deletion of your account in the app; it becomes final after a period during which you can cancel it by signing in again.

Prices and payment

  • The trip price is shown before you book.
  • It may change if you change the trip (added stop, new destination) or under the rules shown in the app [pricing rules to be completed].
  • You pay in cash to the driver, with Mobile Money in the app, or with a credit (credit note, family credit).
  • Cancellation fees may apply; the amount is shown before you confirm the cancellation.

Expected behaviour

  • Mutual respect between riders and drivers, no violence or discrimination.
  • Riders give their safety code at pickup; drivers do not start without it.
  • Drivers follow the highway code and the rules of their activity.
  • Breaching these rules may lead to suspension or closure of the account.

Drivers

  • Drivers provide genuine, up-to-date documents; they are checked before their first trip and then by selfie.
  • The commission and payout terms are shown in the driver app [to be completed].
  • Drivers choose their hours. A driver who lets several offers go unanswered is taken offline.
