In Yaoundé people meet at places everyone knows: the Central Post Office, Carrefour Warda, Mvog-Mbi, Mokolo market. In Kamergo you write that landmark next to the pin on the map, and the driver reads it before arriving.
The price is calculated when you book and shown before you confirm: no bargaining at the car door.

Yaoundé’s digital ID for taxis
Under an order of 25 June 2026, the mayor of the city of Yaoundé requires digital registration of taxis holding a first-category urban transport licence. Each driver gets a personal ID and QR code, each vehicle a unique door number. The data is held on the Urban Community’s Taxi-Yaoundé.com platform.
At Kamergo, our team checks the driver’s and vehicle’s papers itself before the first ride. When a driver accepts, their name, photo and plate appear in the app.
How much is a taxi in Yaoundé?
Maximum taxi fares are set nationally by the order of 26 February 2024 and apply in Yaoundé as in Douala: a shared ride costs 350 FCFA by day and 400 FCFA from 10 pm, a private drop 3,000 FCFA by day and 3,500 FCFA at night.
A Kamergo fare follows the distance and duration of the trip. You see it before you book.
